David Clarke will conduct two 2-day workshops for us during 2012. Each of these workshops will focus on understanding and improving some specific watercolour painting techniques, and in each case the first day will focus on practising the nominated techniques while the second day will encourage participants to apply these techniques to one or more paintings.

David is an excellent teacher and we are fortunate to have him playing this instructional role for us, the first of these workshops will be held in late April.

This first workshop will focus on Edges. A variety of edges will provide interest and create depth in your paintings. This workshop will show you how to create soft controlled edges, lost and found edges, hard edges and also broken edges. After a series of exercises to practice the various techniques, we will simplify a landscape and employ the full array of edges in our painting.
