FREE EVENT for The Lakes Festival

Painting by the Lake

Sunday 8 November.

Have fun with a few paints for a few minutes or all day.

All you do is turn up and paint whatever you like.

Don’t own paints! Watercolour Paint , brushes and paper can be provided FREE.

ALL are welcome, Artists, sketchers and novices. Come by yourself or as a group, couple or family.

Plein Air Competition

COMPETITION CONDITIONS

• To take part in the competition you must register at the registration tent.

• Registration is from 9am till 12 noon.

• Registration cost $10 per person.

• Submitted works must be done entirely at the venue during competition hours.

• Bring your blank surfaces (up to 5) to be stamped by CCWS at time of registration.

• Any medium on paper, board or canvas.

• Return to Registration area by 1pm with your finished painting/s on pre-stamped surfaces.

• Judging and awards at 1pm-2pm. Judges’ decisions are final.

• Bring your easel to display your work for the Easel Exhibition.

• Opportunities to exhibit and sell original artwork at the Easel Exhibition after the judging.

• EFTPOS available for sales.

• Check our location map for great painting spots within the designated competition site boundaries, between the boat shed near The Entrance Bridge and The Entrance Surf Club.

·        Wet Day

In the event that the whole or majority of the day is or is forecast to be wet, the event will be cancelled and unable to be rescheduled.

·        Unpredictable light showers

If there are light showers the event will continue to run as there are some undercover areas. If unexpected constant heavy rains develop and are very disruptive, we will discontinue the free event from that time.  The Competition part will finish early and display and judging will be moved either undercover on the stage.
